PLAZA
Sketchup
"Plaza captures the essence of the forest as a public outdoor space, emulating a shopping center with stores, booths, and dining areas, as well as multiple art installations and integrations of a variety of plants."
Plaza's concept was first formed in my freshman year geometry class, where in a fit of boredom I sketched floor plans from organic curves. The rough sketch prompted the idea for a public shopping plaza, which fueled inspiration and motivation to recreate the concept with a professional CAD program such as Sketchup.

For a few months, I had held off completing the concept due to a lack of ideas outside of the sketch I had completed originally. The lower floor, especially, took two weeks to fully finish because I had immense enduring - what I consider - 'art block'. What helped me through the block, however, was inspiration from online sources such as Pinterest. Much of the composition was inspired by Japanese minimalism, which is why wood is integrated into many parts of the concept.
