ACCEPTANCE
GOLDEN Acrylic & Yarn on Jacquard Fabric
51 x 61 cm
"Acceptance depicts the final stage of grief in its most purest form, conveying a feeling of warmth as the figure rises from the depths of sadness and unravels the darkness he knotted himself into."
I came up with the concept for this artwork following the death of a family member. This piece was created as a reflection of my own personal conflicts, and helped me through much of the grieving process.

One of the biggest challenges I had with the artwork was maintaining the vibrancy of the paint when applying it to the jacquard fabric. After several sessions of experimentation, I found it was better to apply Gesso as a base coat before paintings, which resulted in the warmer, brighter tones I wanted to achieve.
